サモアの伝統的な家。
壁も無い風通しのよい家、古い家は全て木造だが、最近はコンクリートで床を少し高くした
家も多くなっていた。
どの家もカラフルな色で塗られ、庭には様々な花が手入れをされている。
フィジーには庭の手入れという慣習は無く、芸術的なセンスを感じた。
二年ぶりに逢った仲良しのおばちゃんの家は驚いた。
サーフキャンプに世界中のサーファーが持ち込み、置いていった雑誌を短冊に切っては、天井からつるしていた。
物があまり無い分、買っては捨てる文化の人々に、捨てられてしまう本もくして美しい芸術の空間として残った事にハッとした。
朝と夕方、使い終わったのペットボトルに泉の水をくむ子供達の姿。
これで十分なのだ。
サモアにも数年前津波が襲った。どうしてるか心配だが、連絡手段のない彼女達に逢うには行くしかないのが現状だ。

The tsunami overcame samoa several years ago. Being able to do nothing but being to go is a current state to meet them who do not have the contact method though it worries how about it does.
